air
travel
There are 2 options for flying into Costa Rica: via
San Jose or Liberia
Continental
Airlines -
Most cities fly into Houston (IAH) for connections to
Liberia Airport, and San Jose, Costa Rica. San Jose is
about 5 hours drive, whereas Liberia is about 20 minutes
from the villas. We will be working with Continental
and the villas for discounted airfare from Houston to
Liberia (We believe this will apply on the connecting
flights into Houston as well. You are also free to handle
booking your own flights in lieu of the group arrangement
with Continental Airlines.) We will contact you with
instructions and options for this around August 2006
once the rsvps have been received. Please check back
for more information regarding flights, this page will
be updated. We personally recommend flying into Liberia
as it is just 20 minutes from the villas, however typically
the tickets are a bit more in price. The 2-3 extra hours
avoided in driving time on a 2-lane mountain road with
logging trucks on it is well worth it.
for everyone
You must have a valid passport. Forget what you have experienced in the past
or what others tell you. It is required for everyone
including children! The passport MUST be valid for
at least 6 months after your arrival date. In other words
on June 17th, 2007 (the day you arrive) your passport
must be valid up until December 17th of 2007.
for surfers
If you are planning to travel with your board/s please check your airline
to be sure you understand their restrictions and extra
fees. Typically Continental will charge $100 per board
bag each way, and will not insure it. I never get charged
for the $100 return fee when leaving Costa Rica….its a Pura Vida thing.
We will have access to rental boards. Please see your rsvp card to alert us of your needs including sizes and days needed. I will update the website as we get closer regarding the board rental charges.
