what
do i bring
Some American cash, traveler’s checks, passport, copies of tickets/passports/traveler’s checks, medicines, hats, shades, shorts, t-shirts, light casual attire, trail type shoes and a light jacket if going to volcano, beach/sun stuff, plenty of film, bug spray, a few plastic baggies for valuables near water. There are no Walgreen’s in Ocotal. this type of stuff is available but usually pricey.
FYI: there is no need for adaptors for your electronic
items. Costa Rican power supplies are the same as the
US.
For the wedding and non-rehearsal, please bring light,
comfortable attire. No need for wool suits!!! Please
leave all the non-sense about work and politics back
at home just for good measure.
audio and visual
Please feel free to bring CD’s, Ipod’s, Docks, Video Cameras and such down there. We are having Matthew Weatherly and Steve Dawson, two very close friends to Quinn and I produce a theme CD for the trip. I specifically asked Steve not to have any Rick Springfield or Poison on this compilation.
I know of quite a few guitar players on the invite list.
Please bring your guitars down! We can enjoy some goofing
off at the pool and provide some questionable entertainment
for our friends at the same time. This typically produces
some quality video for us to laugh about for years.
for surfers
Wetsuits are not needed. The water is quite refreshing and often a
bit warm. Rash-guards are great or very light t-shits
will work. Most of the North Coast breaks are approached
via boat so reef shoes etc. are not needed. You may bring
a pair in the event we go south. Bring warm water wax,
good sunblock and a leash or two. Our location is out
of the way for surf shops and this type of equipment.
I usually bring a few extra bars of wax and older board
shorts to give to the locals. They appreciate it a
lot. Since most of the trips will be on boats bring a
hat, towel, plastic baggies for your gear, and a light
jacket for the trip home. It can get a little chilly
with the wind.
